Just realized I haven't written up the books I have read recently. They are all really good books. I have joined a forum call Liked OMG teen reads and the book The Outsiders was the book we choose to read the month of July. I am really glad I finally got to read it since I love the movie.
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
I will start out if you watched the movie and read the book other then some hair color and the builds of some of the characters the movie stays with the book really well. This book is based on Ponyboy Curtis one of the character's and his relationship with his brothers, and friends (which they think of themselves as a gang) which they are all refreed to as The Greasers. Then they have another group (gang) in the book called the Soc). The Greasers and the Socs don't really get along. It is mainly because the Soc's are always going after The Greasers and beat them up. What I love about the book is all the feelings put into it. How the friends are there for each other even when they are in a bind. Plus how the relationship changes within the book with Ponyboy and his brothers. This is an excellent book that I hope everyone reads at least once in their lifetime.
Kissing Coffin by Ellen Shreiber
This is the second book in the Vampire Kisses series. I really enjoyed this book. In this one Raven is on a mission to find her missing boyfriend Alexander. She leaves her town and goes off to another town where she thinks Alexander may of gone. Her Aunt is in the town so she is staying with her Aunt. She also meets another character Jagger who it seems may also be looking for Alexander. Some of my favorite parts in this book are when she is with her brother (nerd boy) and his friend (the geek) at his friends house. It ends with a cliffhanger looking forward to reading book 3 to see what is going to happen next with Raven, Alexander and the others.
Rogue by Rachel Vincent
This is the second volume in the series the first was Stray. I really enjoyed this book. Faythe she really is something else, I don't know what is going on in her head. In this book she is receiving phone calls from her old boyfriend and she doesn't want her Dad or Marc to find out. So she keeps it hidden. Which of course is a big mistake. If she would think things through things might not be so rough for her, or at least ask for some help. I know she is trying but she gets herself in more trouble this way. Through out this book her and Marc relationship are on rocky territory. I feel so bad for Marc and her in some of it. I want to just bash both of there heads together. Plus she doesn't realize some of the things she and Marc do also hurt Jace who still has feelings for her. I am looking forward to the next book that comes out this fall called Pride to see how Faythe fate turns out.
Well that is all of the books for now. Yes I did read all of Breaking Dawn but I don't want to give anything away so I will write about it in a week or two :)
I will be back later on this week with an another update with manga. Yes I actually have read a few of them.
Now I am trying to figure out if I want to still take my vacation next week or not even bother since I might be laid off the end of September. It could be an extra week I get coming to me. But at the moment I really think I want the time off. My daughter started a temp job for the next few weeks and my son is heading to Floriday mid week. So the question becomes still take vacation and do some work around the house (most likely read) or do I go to work and get paid the extra week at the end. Tough decision I have to make. I know now one can help me with this hoping if I typed it up it would help me decide.
That's all for now, update later.
